Get support →Yes, a little — every stabilizer has to. Straightening the camera path means the frame moves inside the original picture, and the edges have to be trimmed. The steadier you ask for, the tighter the frame gets. Deshake works out how much this particular clip needs rather than always taking the same bite.
No. Motion blur is baked into each frame when it is captured, and nothing can take it back out. A stabilized blurry frame is a steady blurry frame. Deshake steadies the movement between frames, which is a different problem.
It will improve, but severe shake will not disappear. Deshake is at its best on handheld tremor, walking, drone and telephoto footage, where there is a real camera path to recover.
Never. Analysis, stabilization and export all happen on your iPhone or iPad. We never receive your footage and could not retrieve it if we wanted to.
Yes. Everything runs on device, so Deshake works in airplane mode, on a trail, or on a plane.
Deshake preserves what your iPhone recorded — including 10-bit HDR and 4K — rather than flattening it on export.
